TopstepX trade copier — what the built-in one does, and what it can't

TL;DR: Topstep built a real copier into TopstepX — credit where due. It mirrors a lead account to followers within Topstep (Trading Combines and Express Funded accounts). What it can't do is leave the building: your Apex, MFF, Tradeify or personal accounts aren't invited. Trading Floor connects TopstepX natively and runs it as one floor with everything else — ~42ms median, published live.

The native TopstepX copier, honestly

As of our last check (August 1, 2026, Topstep's help center): one Lead account mirrors to one or more Follower accounts; it covers Trading Combine and Express Funded accounts (not Live Funded); the Lead must have the group's lowest position size limit; and followers auto-unlink when a payout is requested. If everything you trade is at Topstep, it's free and it's the obvious choice. Verify current behavior in Topstep's own docs — their rules, their product.

Where Trading Floor picks up

• Cross-firm floors: a TopstepX account leads (or follows) next to Tradovate, NinjaTrader-brokerage, Rithmic and Volumetrica accounts — one leader, per-account sizing, one journal.
• Risk guardians: daily-loss and drawdown guardians per account, tuned to Topstep's own limits in one click, auto-flattening before the firm's number.
• Receipts: every mirror prints measured latency in your Copy Log; aggregates are public.

Rules first

Topstep prohibits coordinated trading with other people — copying between accounts is for accounts you own and trade. ProjectX went Topstep-exclusive in early 2026 — TopstepX is where that stack lives now. If your other firms rebuilt on Tradovate or Rithmic stacks after the switch, that's exactly the cross-platform floor Trading Floor was built for: Bulenox, Lucid, Alpha Futures and friends.
