Prop firm trade copier: every funded account, one floor, inside the rules

By Kenten Kronemann (Kenny Trades) · Last updated

A prop firm trade copier mirrors one leader account across the evaluation and funded accounts you hold at one or many firms. Trading Floor connects Tradovate, NinjaTrader-brokerage, TopstepX, Rithmic and Volumetrica accounts directly, sizes each follower on its own, flattens an account at your cushion inside the firm’s drawdown or daily-loss number, and prints a latency receipt on every copy, the median published live.

What a prop-firm copier has to get right

How each platform connects

Connecting Tradovate accounts: OAuth

Tradovate-based accounts connect with Tradovate’s own OAuth flow: you sign in on Tradovate’s page, approve access, and come back. Trading Floor never sees the password — it holds a token you can revoke from Tradovate at any time — and every account under that login (an Apex eval, a MyFundedFutures account, a personal account) appears on the floor at once. The connection takes about 90 seconds. NinjaTrader brokerage accounts run on Tradovate’s infrastructure and connect the same way.

Connecting TopstepX accounts: username + API key

TopstepX (and other ProjectX-based dashboards) connect with your TopstepX username and an API key you generate yourself inside TopstepX under Settings → API Key. No password leaves the firm’s site; the key is stored encrypted, and every account under that login is pulled in automatically. Topstep documents API access in its help centre (TopstepX API Access) — check there for its current terms.

Connecting Rithmic accounts: your Rithmic login

Rithmic-based accounts connect with the Rithmic user, password and system name your firm issued (the same ones you type into R|Trader or your front-end), plus the gateway closest to you. Credentials are stored encrypted and the engine holds the R|API session server-side, so nothing on your machine has to stay running. If you trade from Quantower, ATAS or Sierra Chart on a Rithmic account, keep trading there: the copier works at the broker level, so every fill copies with no plugin in your platform.

Volumetrica-based accounts connect with your Volumetrica login.

What gets copied

The engine mirrors the leader’s net position per contract onto each follower, scaled by that follower’s multiplier and clamped by its max-contracts cap. Entries, scale-ins, partial exits, flattens and reversals all land on every follower, sized for that account. Mirrored stop and target legs go out as one broker-side OCO pair on Tradovate; on TopstepX, Rithmic and Volumetrica they are two orders, and the copier cancels one when it sees the other fill. A limit entry is mirrored as a limit and given a few seconds to fill at your price before the engine backstops it, and your first live session runs under Safe Start: one contract per follower until you lift it or set that account’s cap.

How fast, and how you check

Every copy prints two numbers in your Copy Log: the engine’s own share (detect the fill, size each follower, submit) and the broker’s wire time, attributed separately so a slow gateway is never disguised as engine speed — or vice versa. The platform-wide median copy, the engine’s p95 and the share of copies above the disclosed 200ms cutoff are published live from real production orders (54ms median copy, fill to follower). Copy delay is slippage handed to every follower on every entry, so we show the number instead of describing it.

How to set up a prop firm trade copier, step by step

  1. Create a Trading Floor account at /signup and pick a plan: Starter ($25/mo) runs up to 20 accounts across two broker logins, Pro ($50/mo) runs 120 across unlimited logins. The first month is free.
  2. Connect the login that holds your leader. Tradovate logins connect with OAuth, TopstepX with your username and API key, Rithmic with your user, password and system, Volumetrica with your Volumetrica login.
  3. Connect every follower login the same way. Mixed floors are normal: prop firm accounts next to accounts at other firms, personal accounts, or a TradingView strategy as the signal source.
  4. Crown the leader and enable followers. One account leads; tick the accounts that should mirror it. A disabled account is left completely alone.
  5. Size each follower. Set a multiplier (or a fixed contract count) and a max-contracts cap per account, so a 50k eval and a 150k funded account never share one setting.
  6. Arm the guardians. Apply the prop firm preset, then nudge the drawdown and daily-loss lines to leave the cushion you want. Guardians act per account at your line.
  7. Run Test floor, then Start. Test floor checks every connection and your copy wiring without placing an order. First session: Safe Start holds followers at one contract until you set a cap.
  8. Trade the leader normally and read the Copy Log. Every copy shows its fill, its engine latency and the broker’s wire time; rejections and skips appear with a reason instead of vanishing.

Compliance, honestly

Copying between accounts you own and trade yourself is allowed by most futures prop firms, with limits that vary: Apex caps active PAs at 20 and requires the same direction; Topstep’s native copier covers Combines and Express Funded accounts; MyFundedFutures explicitly permits external copiers; Tradeify allows own-account copying, same direction. All of them prohibit copying other people. The rules are the firm’s, not ours — verify your firm’s current policy before you mirror. We keep a sourced, dated table at prop firms that allow copy trading, and the per-firm pages quote each help centre: Apex, Topstep, MyFundedFutures, Tradeify.

What it costs

Starter is $25/month for up to 20 accounts across two broker logins; Pro is $50/month for up to 120 accounts across unlimited logins. Yearly billing is ten months’ price. There are no per-account fees and nothing to host. Between evals you pause instead of cancelling — settings, journal, payout tracker and streaks wait for you. The first month is free, so the honest way to evaluate it is to run one real session and read your own Copy Log. Plans in plain text: /pricing.md.

Frequently asked

What is the best trade copier for prop firm accounts?

Trading Floor is built for funded futures floors: it mirrors one leader across prop accounts on Tradovate, NinjaTrader-brokerage, TopstepX, Rithmic and Volumetrica (latency published live at tradingfloor.me/latency), with per-account firm-preset drawdown and daily-loss guardians that flatten at your cushion.

Can I copy trades across accounts at different prop firms?

Yes — that is the core use case. One leader mirrors to followers at multiple firms simultaneously, each follower with its own sizing and guardians. One account hitting its guardian never stops the rest of the floor.

Do prop firms allow trade copiers?

Most allow copying between accounts you own and trade yourself, with per-firm limits (account caps, same-direction rules, no third-party signals) — Apex, Topstep, MyFundedFutures and Tradeify among them. Rules change: check your firm’s current rules and our sourced rules-by-firm table.

How does the copier connect to each firm?

Tradovate-based accounts (Apex, MFF, Tradeify, E8 and others) with Tradovate OAuth; TopstepX with your username and API key; Rithmic-based accounts with your Rithmic user, password and system; Volumetrica with your Volumetrica login.

How much does a prop firm trade copier cost?

Trading Floor is $25/mo for up to 20 accounts or $50/mo for up to 120, yearly at ten months’ price, 7-day free trial, with the option to pause between evals instead of cancelling.

What happens when one account breaches?

Its guardian flattens it and stops copying to it; every other account on the floor keeps running. The breach and every copy around it are in the Copy Log.

Every eval you pass should multiply, not repeat.

Connect your firms in minutes. Guardians on before the first copy. 7-day free trial.
