Every copier says it's fast. Ask for the receipts.

TL;DR: the trade-copier category runs on claims — "lightning-fast", "rock-solid", "set and forget". The complaints that fill trader Discords are the same three stories: it disconnected silently, it slipped and nobody could say by how much, and "did it even copy?" A receipt is the opposite of a claim: a number or an event you can check yourself. This page is the five-question audit we think every copier should pass — with our answers, verifiable live.

The three failure stories every prop trader knows

Read any copier's reviews (including ours) and the unhappy ones cluster into three shapes: the copier died quietly while the trader thought five accounts were mirroring; a fill slipped and there was no per-order number to say whether the copier or the broker ate the time; and an order just didn't copy, discovered at the end of the day. Surveys of funded traders consistently find a majority reporting technical issues during evals. The product category's real job isn't copying — it's being trustworthy about copying.

Claims vs receipts

The claimThe receipt
"Lightning-fast copies"Latency measured on every mirror and printed in your Copy Log next to the fill — engine time and broker-wire time split out, so a slow broker can't hide inside our number. Platform-wide median and p95 from real production orders published at /latency.
"Always connected"A staleness bar the moment your data feed goes quiet; a notification on desktop and your phone when a broker login signs out; and a Start button that refuses loudly — naming the dead login — instead of pretending to start against it.
"It copied your trade"A Copy Log row for every copy decision — including rejections and skips, with the reason. We never trim the log to look good; an aggregated failure row beats fifty missing ones.
"Reliable infrastructure"Health-gated deploys that auto-roll back if a build doesn't come up healthy, rolling restarts so an update drops no requests, and a public /healthz anyone can read — including the exact commit running.
"Protects your eval"Risk guardians that act — flattening a cushion above the firm's drawdown or daily-loss line — plus a live Eval HQ board showing every account's distance to its rules in real time, not in tomorrow's journal import.

Why we publish receipts

Because the category earned the skepticism. Copiers sell trust to people who've been burned, so the honest move is to make every claim checkable: per-order latency in the log, share cards that carry a public verify page (which states plainly what we recorded and what we didn't), and a status page that tells you what's actually deployed. If we have a bad hour, it shows. That's the point.

What claims-first copiers still do well

Fairness cuts both ways. Replikanto's NinjaTrader integration runs deeper than anything browser-based; TradeCopia covers desktop platforms (Quantower, ATAS, Sierra Chart) we don't; TradeSyncer helped define the cloud category. If those fit your stack, they're good tools — our argument isn't that they fail, it's that every copier should show its receipts, and you should ask for them.

Frequently asked

How do I know if a trade copier is actually copying my trades?

Demand per-event visibility: a log row for every copy decision including rejections, per-order latency next to each fill, and an alert the moment a broker login disconnects. Trading Floor shows all three; whatever copier you use, ask where its equivalents are.

What is a good latency for a futures trade copier?

Sub-100ms leader-fill-to-follower-order keeps mirrors inside a tick or two on liquid contracts in normal conditions. The number that matters is measured per-order on your own fills — Trading Floor's median is ~42ms, published live from production orders at tradingfloor.me/latency.

Why did my trade copier disconnect without telling me?

Most copiers surface disconnects only in a status widget you have to go look at. Broker sessions (especially OAuth logins) expire, and a copier that stays quiet about it leaves you flat while you think you're trading. Trading Floor pushes a notification to desktop and phone, and refuses to start against a dead login — naming which one.

Does Trading Floor show failed or rejected copies?

Yes — every copy decision writes a Copy Log row, including rejections and skips with the reason. Shared cards carry a public verify page that states exactly what was recorded and how.
